Reading: Is: 9: 1-6
“ The people who walked in darkness, have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone.”
Short meditation:
24th December. It is the night of Christmas. Let us think in those festival days on persons in our neighbourhood whose
lives are filled of darkness and night. A few weeks ago, the Peace Light of Bethlehem came to our
continent. A little flame from a country at war. Scouts and guides all over the globe give this light one to another as a sign of
peace and hope an build so bridges between peoples.
To do:
When you take part on the midnightmass in your parish church, you can bring as scouts the Peace Light into the church.
But not only their: look round in your neighbourhood. Maybe you know poor, or elderly people. When you celebrate
Christmas in your scoutsgroup, bring with this Peace Light the joy of Christmas to poor people, to a camp of refugees, to an
old people’s home. On this way scouts are building bridges between peoples of all generations.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
