Holy Mass on the ICCS Centenary, the 21th November 2020
Holy Mass on the 21th November, vespers of the Solemnity of Christ the King
Dear leader in Scouting,
As you may know, Catholic Scouting is celebrating 100 years since Jacques Sevin and his partners agreed and promoted the first network of catholic scout associations. Many things happened since than. Today we would like to renew our friendship and strengthen our collaborations. The new generations need us to help them grow and to let them know how much God loves them.
Finishing a set of initiatives to celebrate these days, we are organizing a beautiful and solemn Holy Mass on the 21th November, vespers of the Solemnity of Christ the King, at 20:00 CET (GMT+1).
Due to the current pandemic crisis, we will be in communion through the social networks (ICCS-CICS-EM Facebook and Instagram pages). The mass will be transmitted from the Abbey Church of Our Lady and Saint John the Baptist in Averbode and will be animated by some boyscouts. Special participation will include the celebrant and homilist Rev. Dr. Werner Fierens, o.praem., who currently serves as ICCS-EM Chaplain, the concelebrant Rev Drs. Gerjan Bruins, OSA, as associate national chaplain of Scouts en Gidsen Vlaanderen (GSB), Fr. Jos Bielen, o.praem, wich will give us technical support and Filip Blokken as organist and cantor. We will also have the honourable participation of the ICCS World Committee and the Sisters of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem (also founded by the Venerable Jacques Sevin SJ).
We are looking forward to see you online.
Let us pray together in these difficult times.
