New regional chaplain

New E-M Region ChaplainWe are pleased to announce that a new Chaplain has been appointed to the ICCS Euro-Med region. Father Werner Fierens, Prémontré. Werner is currently National Chaplain of Gidsen Vlaanderen, the Flemish association in Belgium.He will start his new role next September. Father Werner is a brilliant and sweet person deeply committed to scouting. He has just finished a thesis about scouting that he will defend next October.Father Werner is well aware of the challenges raised by the differences between the various European and Mediterranean associations (associations of catholic scouting,catholic associations of scouting, catholic committees within scouting associations, scouting inspired from Catholicism and others). This diversity is a precious opportunity and we believe that he will be a chaplain who will know how to lead a path of faith, trust and unity while building on our differences.Father Werner speaks German, English, French as well as Flemish.Werner, we wish you a great and fruitful time with the Euro-Med team thanks to our Lord.Let also God be thanked for Father Rui’s achievements, his predecessor, priest of faith and scouting beliefs who strengthen the ICCS EM all along his mandate.
